What are the key characteristics of epoxy paint?

Epoxy Painting: What Precautions to Take?
Somewhat temperamental, applying epoxy paint does require a certain level of technical expertise. Certain precautions must be taken during application, which is most commonly done using a roller, a brush, or a spray gun. To ensure an excellent result, epoxy paint requires a very well-prepared surface.
The surface must not be porous; if it is wood, it must be well-sanded, and if it is a wall or floor, it must be smooth and free of cracks. Otherwise, all necessary repairs must be completed before applying the Epoxy paint.
When applying epoxy paint to concrete, especially when moisture is present, specific precautions and a certain level of expertise are required to achieve a flawless finish. On a concrete surface, you must allow for a three-month drying period before applying the epoxy coating. To ensure a perfect finish and high-quality result, two coats should be applied. To prevent the paint from drying too quickly, it is best to mix the epoxy and hardener at the very last minute. When preparing this mixture, always refer to the epoxy paint’s instructions; if you find the application challenging, it is advisable to rely on the expertise of a surface treatment professional.
