Starting a Company: What’s Next?
Setting up your company and leasing premises
In another article, I discussed the e-commerce business that my partners and I began building six months ago, dedicating about two hours per week to it (which, as we know, is not much). In this article, I will explore the various potential solutions available to me.
Building your business
Few people possess the soul of an entrepreneur; an entrepreneur is someone who takes initiative and is always seeking to handle tasks independently or spearhead new projects. To me, a successful entrepreneur is someone who acts as an innovator within their field.
I know several successful entrepreneurs in my circle, including my cousin and my brother, who inspired me to launch my organic cosmetics e-commerce business (I will elaborate more on my project here). They actually run an LED company.
I will tell you their story; they began researching various lighting technologies, particularly LEDs, several years ago (2009), as energy consumption was becoming an increasingly prominent topic in the news. My cousin anticipated this shift and launched an LED e-commerce platform via PrestaShop in 2010. They have now been running their company for many years.
The stages of their project:
- Developing an E-commerce website on PrestaShop,
- Site SEO (Directory, blog, PR, etc.)
- Simultaneously leasing a warehouse in Paris to store their products,
- Following the success of their LED sales, orders have been steadily increasing, prompting them to select a larger warehouse to store their light bulbs and LED lamps in the Lyon region. They chose this location because rent is more affordable than in Paris. The Rhône-Alpes region is currently experiencing significant growth. Up until now, they have been developing this project alongside their primary professional activities.
- They have continued to increase their sales and attract investors. As a result, they have continued their upward trajectory, even leasing office space in Lyon through Jones Lang Lasalle to establish their headquarters a few months ago, where they have hired a sales representative and a part-time accountant (previously, their accounts were outsourced to an accounting firm).
- Currently, they are in a period of rapid development, increasingly negotiating with local authorities and private companies. One to watch.

My personal project
I plan to follow in their footsteps and focus on my web projects for the next year and a half. During this time, the e-commerce business will already be launched, and I intend to take on a position abroad that can be managed remotely.
The goal is to expand our online business activities over the next few years, with the aim of working abroad within two years. When I return, I hope we will have saved enough funds to establish ourselves and lease our own offices, just as they did!
The transition upon returning from my trip will therefore be seamless, and I won’t have to search for a job since I will already have one.
Let’s see if this project comes to fruition!!
What about you? Are you ready to launch a company and build something that stands the test of time?
